In this presentation I discuss some of the ways in which we can enhance our understanding of macrovariation, microvariation, and nanovariation in the English-speaking world by combining recent advances in online crowd- sourcing, geospatial data visualization, and statistical physics. Data are drawn from surveys I have conducted of several hundred thousand speakers of American, British, and other varieties of English over the past 20 years.
