University of Edinburgh 2011

Welcome to ULAB, the Undergraduate Linguistics Association of Britain.
We are a student-run society made for undergraduate linguistics students. It is a subsidiary node of
the International Association for Linguistics Students (IALS) and represents their presence in the
UK. We have several objectives:
• To provide a forum for linguistics discussion among undergraduates in the UK
• To hold an annual conference for linguistics students to present their work
• To provide a mailing list for news and issues relevant to students in the UK
• To help provide a network and central hub for university societies
• To bridge the gap between national student interests, universities and organisations
ULAB is entirely run by volunteers, and is always accepting new interested members. Membership
is free, and participation is encouraged. We are keen on branching out, adding new features, and
doing all we can to help undergraduate linguistics and English language students.

Hosted by the Edinburgh University Linguistics & English Language Society, the first meeting of the Undergraduate Linguistics Association of Britain will be held at the University of Edinburgh. It will be a showcase of undergraduate work and inspiration from around the UK.
